Instead of enclosing the kitchen, chose in this case to open this space to the rest of the adjacent areas. This was done while adopting a raw and edgy design approach materialized into wooden shelving units and minimalist black cabinetry. The marble island is the centerpiece of this spacious and open kitchen. The island matches the backsplash which is quite special as well, only partially covering the space between the counter and the wall cabinetry and forming a small platform for displaying and storing small objects.
A French country kitchen will often, although not always, incorporate a farmhouse- (or apron-) style sink into its design. Even amidst other elegant touches, this simple sink orm looks perfectly at ease. A luxurious detail but one that makes sense with the large-gathering focus of a French country kitchen is the wall-mounted pot filler faucet, installed above the stove. This is a traditional feature that has disappeared in standard kitchens, but it’s quite useful for the family chef!
is another go-to color when exploring retro kitchen style. From backsplash to the cabinets, this color works both as accent and as foundation so don’t be afraid to play around with it a bit. Add some throwback signage to the space too! Over the stove, breakfast bar or even creating a gallery wall behind the kitchen table. This too is a way to bring in your own personality.
